This calculator calculates volume of a trapezoid footing along with its raft portion.
Steps Used
Calculate raft volume : raft length x raft width x raft height
Formula for trapezoid volume is : V = h/3 (A1+A2+√(A1 x A2))
Where :
- V = volume of trapezoid
- h = height of trapezoid
- A1 = area of lower shape
- A2 = area of upper shape
Add raft volume and trapezoid portion volume to get total trapezoid footing volume
Sample Calculation
- Dimensions of lower shape : 2 meter by 2 meters. i.e. area = 2 x 2 = 4 Sq. meters = A1
- Dimensions of upper shape : 1 meter by 1 meter i.e. area = 1 x 1 = 1 Sq. meters = A2.
- height of trepezoid = 1 meter = h
- Calculated Volume of Trapezoid = (1/3) *(4+1+√(4 x1)) = 2.333 Cubic Meters.
